With its low thermal conduction capacity (λ = 0.18 W/m⋅K), insulbar® LO brings about the very effective thermal separation of aluminium outer and inner shells and thereby particularly low Uf values. The insulating bar is consequently the ideal solution for producing delicate, visually appealing systems with reduced installation depths and optionally also slimmer visible widths. At the same time, it offers outstanding thermal insulation properties.
The low lambda value (0.18 W/m⋅K) is achieved by means of microscopically small, pore-like cavities in a glass fibre reinforced polymer blend (PA 66 and PPE). The surface of the profile has, in accordance with the Ensinger Patent No. EP 1242709 B2, a compact, smooth structure. The material enables the required values in line with DIN EN 14024 in respect of transverse tensile strength and shear strength to be achieved. The suitability of the product has been demonstrated by the ift Rosenheim. insulbar® LO thereby enables highly effective thermal insulation while simultaneously preserving the high stability.
The possibility of achieving reduced installation depths with the same or indeed a lower Uf value leads to a 'slimming-down' of the systems – and hence, alongside improved appearance, also conservation of resources. This is because the smaller the installation depth, the less material input, e.g. for insulating bars, central gaskets, insulating foams and glass rebate insulation. As slim systems are also correspondingly lighter and more manageable, they can be transported and installed more easily, which can generate advantages in terms of time and costs.
